Sonoma Valley is a diverse and culturally rich community. Cultural awareness and understanding are the foundations of a strong and resilient community.

We seek to promote cultural awareness and understanding, and strengthen the identity affirmation and sense of belonging in Sonoma of the Latino community. We seek to enhance the community interconnections, and strengthen the community and the overall well-being of all in Sonoma Valley.
We create interactive cultural spaces to explore, celebrate, and share traditional and modern Latino cultures with all of the Sonoma Valley community, and to raise the voice of Latino families and individuals.
Through a variety of cultural events, we promote awareness and understanding of Latino cultures among the broader community, fostering inclusivity and cultural diversity.

2024 Latino Leadership Program

We see a void in the valley related to connecting, developing, and inspiring our future Latino leaders. Currently, our local city and county government elected and appointed positions, and even the La Luz board itself is not ethnically representative of the broader community. Extremely frequently, voices and needs of the Latino community are not represented when decisions are made that directly affect them.

A strong and empowered group of Latino leaders that lead by example and represent their community in all forums, will strengthen the overall Sonoma Valley community for the benefit of all.
We provide future and present Latino leaders the opportunity to develop leadership skills and their social network so that they can be a catalyst for change in Sonoma Valley through health, education, and financial security.
The Latino Leadership program is based on the belief that everyone has the opportunity and capacity to be effective and that leadership is an observable exercise of defined practices and behaviors; leadership is a skill that can be learned and honed.
This training will guide these leaders as they build a solid understanding of themselves, what motivates them, and the legacy that they would like to live for. The goal is two-fold: these leaders will continue to grow as both a leader and as an individual.
