English Language Classes

In Sonoma Valley, an estimated 60% of Latinos earn less than 80% of the State’s median income and over 40% don't speak English very well.
We seek to increase the English proficiency level of all Latino adults in Sonoma Valley for them to acquire language, confidence, and cultural skills to further good-paying employment opportunities and setup and grow their own businesses.

We provide four levels of English language classes throughout the school year for adults with proven textbooks and curriculum.

We provide community-building opportunities among the students for support not only for learning but also for support in their daily lives.

We provide an opportunity for volunteer teachers to contribute their skills and passion to effect a transformational change in the lives of their students and strengthen our community.

Small Business Support

In Sonoma Valley, it is considered that an annual income of under 200% of the Federal poverty line is inadequate to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, healthcare, etc. An estimated 60% of Latinos earn less than 80% of the State’s median income.
Starting and growing a business provides individuals with the opportunity to generate more income, build assets, and create employment opportunities for others, thus breaking the generational cycle of poverty and transforming our community.

We provide entrepreneurs and small business owners with technical assistance in the ideation, planning, setup, management, and growth of their businesses. This includes training and one-to-one case management and mentoring.

For those small businesses that are ready for growth, we provide access to capital through microloans.

We provide information and training for entrepreneurs and small business owners in the areas of finance, accounting, taxes, licenses and permits, banking, and digital access.
